In this ground-breaking dance-theatre adaptation of Bertolt Brecht’s first play – we follow BAAL, our anti-hero, along a path of consumption, greed and ultimate destruction. Described as ‘a bonkers ballet’ and ‘designer grotesque’, the four dancers grapple with love, sexuality, art, fame, betrayal, nature and lust.

As scenes of matadors, landladies, ghosts, circus animals, dinner parties and forests unfurl, audiences are drawn deeper into a kaleidoscopic world of surreal images, extreme physicality and high drama. Dark humour, intricate choreography and beautiful poetry combine in this stunning, cathartic, multi-media production, featuring a dual channel film with live music and lusciously designed costumes and set.

Recommended age: 14+
Running time: 55 minutes
The performance contains semi-nudity, flashing images and some shouting
