Here it comes, ‘Fly! Tomato! Fly!’, a ridiculous unabashed explosion of red on the horizon. As Antonio Gonzalez gets diagnosed with testicular cancer he faces two choices: to take his illness as an opportunity to grow and one day inspire others to change their lives or to beat himself up and stay small in a world of small people for the rest of his life. A provocative and playful exploration of a man's struggles to accept who he is in the face of mortality.

Jose Parra is collaborating with award-winning director Jamie Wood to create a visual and visceral show, performed in both English and Spanish.

About the Artist:

I am a performer and theatre-maker who likes to create comedy that comes from a place of pure emotion. I draw from aspects of my life that are often difficult and find ways to make them relevant and accessible to share them playfully with an audience.

I was born in Bilbao and grew up in a working-class area. For my parents, the idea of being an artist was not a possibility. When I was 26 I moved to London where I discovered theatre. I trained at Desmond Jones School of Mime and Physical Theatre and the International School of Corporeal Mime. In my early 30s, I discovered Clown with Mick Barnfather (Ecole Philippe Gaulier) . Then, I trained in Clown Through Mask with Jonathan Young.

Over the past 10 years I have worked with Moving Pieces whose latest work, Total Eclipse was acclaimed by Broadway Baby as 'a masterpiece of physical theatre'.
